At The Behavioral Health Hospital at Hebrew Senior Care we understand that aging brings unique challenges. Our hospital care team specializes in serving the behavioral health needs of older adults. Patients are co-managed by a psychiatrist and geriatrician who specialize in the care of seniors.
Typically patients admitted to this 22-bed behavioral health unit are 50 and older and are experiencing acute psychiatric symptoms or behaviors that interfer with their care. Whether a patient is experiencing mental health issues that is exacerbated by age or are dealing with new behavioral conditions, our health care team are experts in serving this vulnerable population. Length of stay at The Behavioral Health Hospital at Hebrew Senior Care averages 14-18 days allowing optimal behavioral, medical and pharmacologic management so patients can successfully be discharged back to their prior living situation. Patients are provided with superior care from our psychiatrists and interdisciplinary team of nurses, social workers, and pharmacists; all who have a specialty focus in the care and treatment of older adults.
At The Behavioral Health Hospital at Hebrew Senior Care we offer direct admission. thereby eliminating the lengthy emergency room wait! Treatment begins immediately with a comprehensive evaluation. Following the evaluation, an individualized plan of care is developed and patients are consistently monitored and evaluated throughout their hospitalization.
Referrals can be accepted from physician offices, nursing homes, assisted living facilities and/or hospital emergency departments. The Behavioral Health Hospital at Hebrew Senior Care offers physicians and their older patients an improved alternative to sending their seniors to a hospital emergency room.
